Tesco Bank’s Pay+ app, allows customers to pay in-store with no PIN simply by opening the app and using either fingerprint or face ID to authenticate payment and collection of Tesco Clubcard points.
As Creative Team Lead on this project for Tesco Bank I was in charge of a small UX and UI team. I implemented strict management of creative on this project with hi-res User Journey documents being the single source of truth for stakeholders and for Agile development. These UJs were fed from immaculately tidy Sketch files with a strict Naming Convention, Styleguides and Sketch Library. Automation of sketch files into UJs in Overflow, Prototypes and to Zeplin all linked up to Jira stories.
Security in a payment app is paramount and the apps were speedily updated to take advantage of the new bio-metric authentications on both iOS and Android and we worked closely with the Security Team within Tesco Bank.
In addition to stabilising a re-platforming project and working on new features, I helped complete successful App Store Optimisation, that saw the app rating rise from 2 stars to 4.6 stars and saw downloads increase significantly.
As a team we also came up with a new strategy for the future of the App with new regulations (PSD 2.0 and Secure Customer Authentication in mind), this strategy work consisted of presentations and key to that were prototypes made in Proto Pie.
